Break Generational Money Blocks with These Mindset Hacks | Neville Goddard & Louise Hay Techniques

Learn how to overcome generational money blocks and limiting beliefs with Louise Hay and Neville Goddard’s powerful techniques. Discover mirror exercises, affirmations, and the “I Remember When” method to manifest abundance and transform your relationship with money.

If you’re Black, Asian, or Hispanic, you may have encountered certain generational mindsets that hold you back. For example, when considering a purchase or moving into a certain neighborhood, someone might tell you, “That’s not for us; it’s for them.” It doesn’t matter how much success you’ve achieved. There’s always that relative or friend saying, “That’s not for people like us.”

In this post, we’re going to talk about money blocks. These are limiting beliefs that often hold us back from our financial success. Sometimes, these generational mindsets may have made sense in the past, but they don’t apply anymore. Yet, they continue to linger, passed down through families like invisible chains. It’s similar to being in a room full of people coughing and sneezing. Others showing symptoms does not mean you’ll catch something, but being around that environment can make you feel susceptible.

An older relative is one example of this. At the first sign of a sneeze, they immediately want to give you medicine. It’s a habit, a learned behavior. These types of generational beliefs can create unconscious money blocks. Think about it. It’s like retreating to drugs instead of letting the body form a resistance. Similarly, it’s like giving up on something before you have tried. Let’s break these down and move forward toward a mindset of abundance.

Shifting Your Mindset on Bills

Before we dive further into dismantling these money blocks, here’s an empowering mindset shift. Louise Hay, a motivational figure, has insights that I often share in my manifestation Skool community. She offers a new perspective on bills, something many of us dread. Instead of seeing them as burdens, she suggests seeing bills as a sign of trust.

The fact that someone trusts us enough to give us the responsibility to pay means they believe in our ability to handle it. – Louise Hay

Embracing this mindset can transform how we view financial obligations.

Mirror Exercise: Facing Your Money Fears

Louise Hay also introduced the mirror exercise, a simple but powerful tool to uncover and address deep-seated fears. Here’s how it works:

  1. Grab a Mirror – If you don’t have one nearby, use your phone’s selfie camera.
  2. Ask Yourself – Say to yourself, “My biggest fear about money is…” and let the thoughts flow naturally. Write them down in a journal.I did this exercise earlier, and here’s what surfaced for me:
    • “Women only love me for my earning power.”
    • “Money is not enough.”
    • “Money will be taken away from me.”
These are just examples, but whatever comes up for you, jot it down. Journaling is a powerful manifestation tool. It allows you to reflect, track your growth, and ultimately reprogram your mindset.

Rewriting the Narrative: Affirmations

Once you’ve written down your money fears, it’s time to rewrite them using corrective affirmations. Here’s how you can transform those fears:

  • Fear: “Women only love me for my earning power.”
    • Affirmation: “There are high-value women who appreciate me for who I am, regardless of my financial situation.”
  • Fear: “Money will be taken away from me.”
    • Affirmation: “I earn more than enough, and my financial abundance continues to grow.”

In this process, you’re not only rewriting your beliefs but also using Neville Goddard’s famous “I remember when” technique. By saying “I remember when I used to think this way,” you communicate to your subconscious mind. This signals that this belief is a thing of the past. You’ve moved beyond it.

Embedding the New Mindset

Once you’ve crafted your affirmations, it’s time to embed them in your daily routine. Here’s a structured approach using the Tesla 3-6-9 method:

  • Morning: Say your affirmations 3 times.
  • Midday: Repeat them 6 times.
  • Evening: End your day by repeating them 9 times.
